Quote - Elisha

Why don't we reference this verse more often to disrespecting youth?

From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some youths came out of the town and jeered at him. "Go on up, you baldhead!" they said. "Go on up, you baldhead!" He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.
-2 Kings 2:23-24

not enough old guy youth pastors...therefore not enough bald heads

Male Pattern baldness can hit earlier than you think!

Plus, I think the average age of a youth pastor continues to rise...either way it's an interesting passage!

what slant would you use when giving this to students?

Well since youth have selective hearing when it comes to the Old Testament I don't know that it'd do much good...except for a laugh.

If God created all things good than why did the Bear attack 42 youth...is it good to rid the world of these type of people? Was that these Bears' purpose?? Haha...

The lesson...respect your elders because you never know when they will call down bears upon you, or refuse to support your mission trip since you made fun of them!
