"One of the greatest weaknesses in our teaching and leadership today is that we spend so much time trying to get people to do things good people are supposed to do, without changing what they really believe...we frankly need to do much less of this managing of action, especially with young people. We need to concentrate on changing the minds of those we would reach and serve."
-Dallas Willard, The Divine Conspiracy, p307
This is a big thing with me. I have already seen way to much of the "What you should be doing" or "what is going on" instead of informing and motivating approach of "Why you should be doing" and "why this is going on" so people have a reason to want to serve beyond the fact that "they should."
