We each have a 2 door car. Neither easily supports a car seat in the back. So, it was time to go car shopping. After nearly purchasing a Malibu (my repeated efforts to convince Michelle that it was time for a Minivan, as it is the official vehicle of all youth pastors with kids, was unsuccessful) we decided to go in a different direction.
Enter the 2009 Pontiac Vibe. We rented one a few years back while in St. Pete Beach and I liked it. Hopefully it'll be a reliable family car for a loooong time. Michelle liked the newer model style and the fact that it was red had her sold. (Don't tell Michelle that it looks like a small minivan. She will blow up in your face).
Michelle has told me I've become pretty emotional about letting go of the vintage, classic, sexy, one of a kind 1992 Pontiac Sunbird that I've been driving for years. In fact, to Michelle's disgust we've been driving it everywhere as part of the "Farewell Tour" as it will be passed on to a new owner in the next few weeks.
So, while my brother Dan is having his quote "mid-life crisis" and purchased this Corvette, I guess you could say we are having our "Real Life Crisis" and now have a "family car." Everyone has to grow up sometime:)
So, we'll still own a Pontiac (and a Saturn). Maybe someday we'll buy a car from a product line that still exists.
